 District Barnala’s District Industries Centre has now got its own office located at the district Red Cross Bhawan, near DC office Complex, Kachehri Road.
 Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Punamdeep Kaur stated this in a press statement issued here today. She added that with the office stationing itself at Barnala, it would now become easier for industrialists to have an easy access to government support for various industrial purposes. This would also propel the industrial growth as well as enable the industrialists to have an easy interaction with government.
 She said that Barnala has industries such poultry farming, agriculture combine manufacturing, rice-sheller industry, electrical transformers and equipment manufacturing etc.  
 GM, District Industries Centre Mr Preet Mohinder Singh Brar added that the industrialists can approach office at Red Cross Bhawan as and when required. The department has already held a meeting with the industrialists and assured them of help in every possible way. He added that implementation applying for sanctions for setting up new industry to getting permissions for the same, it will now an easier task for industrialists. For facilitating industrialists, the department currently has 9 people working at 16 sanctioned posts.
 Meanwhile, Mr Vijay Kumar, President, District Industry Chamber Commerce, Barnala chapter said that earlier industrialists from Barnala had to go all the way to Malerkotla to get their work done. Since the inception of district Barnala in 2006, the department had been at Malerkotla only. “Earlier, GM DIC Malerkotla had been given charge of Barnala, who had charges of other areas as well. Now with the office being exclusively for Barnala, we will be able to get better knowledge of government schemes,” he said.
 He added that it would especially be useful for industries that are keen to work under schemes for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFMP), 1getting subsides and new proposals.
