INTERACTIVE FACEBOOK LIKE SESSION REGARDING OPENING OF INDUSTRIES ON LUDHIANA POLICE FACEBOOK PAGE AT 4 PM TOMORROW

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal have suggested all residents of district Ludhiana that if they have cough, cold, fever or problem in breathing, then they should visit their nearest government health centre for checkup. He said that if the doctors would get to know about the disease on time, then they can start treatment of the patient on time and it would also help in checking the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19).
He said that sometimes it becomes difficult for health department officials in finding the suspected patients and that is why, it becomes out duty of every citizen to inform the officials on time. He informed that the health department is also screening the patients on their own and the facility of sampling is now available in all government hospitals, along with private hospital Dayanand Medical College & Hospital.
He informed that till date, 1297 samples have been sent for testing from district Ludhiana, out of which reports of 1160 samples have been received and report of 1141 samples were negative. He informed that 19 samples were found to be positive, that includes 16 from Ludhiana and three from other districts. He informed that unfortunately five patients have lost their lives, while four patients (three from Ludhiana and one from Jalandhar) have been discharged after treatment. He stated that now, 10 active patients are left in the district. He clarified that no fresh positive case have been reported in the district today. He informed that the 72-year-old Jalandhar based woman was also discharged from the hospital today.
In view of the ongoing lockdown/curfew, and as per the directions of the Punjab government, relaxations have been given to the industries to start their operations in the district. He informed that the interested industrialists can apply at portal www.pbindustries.gov.in. He clarified that if during the start of any industry, any worker is found positive for COVID 19, then proper inquiry would be conducted and if it is found that the industrialist failed to provide necessary facilities to the workers, then action would be taken against the concerned industrialist and if all facilities were provided, then no action would be taken against them. He urged the industrialists to follow all directions and standard operating protocol (SOP) issued by the Punjab government.
He further informed that to discuss the issue of opening of industries and to take suggestions, a Facebook live session would be held on the page of Ludhiana Police at 4 pm on April 24, 2020. He informed that this session would be attended by officials from Industries Department, Labour Department, EPF and ESIC. He informed that the residents would be able to send their questions during the live session and their answers would be given on the spot.
Mr Agrawal informed that the Union Government has now issued an ordinance that if any person misbehaves or attacks health department doctor or staff, then strict action would be taken against them.
