Singla pushes the pedal to reach out to farmers post passing of new bills
Aggressive outreach initiatives by Vijay Inder Singla explaining farmers provisions of new bills

School education and public works minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Thursday, visited several grain markets of the district and explained to the farmers about the various provisions of the newly passed bills in Vidhan Sabha for the protection of their interests. The cabinet minister also highlighted the penal provisions of the bills of three year imprisonment if someone buys the crop below MSP. Alongside, he saw the procurement of paddy and assured the farmers once again that the procurement of paddy and other crops will continue in the hassle free way as it was being done since the Congress regime took over under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
The cabinet minister said that the new pro-farmer bills will eliminate all the negative effects of draconian acts passed by Modi government. He added that these pro farmer bills will also help to preserve pious relation between farmer, arhtiya and laborer. He added that now the MSP has been assured to farmers in written form and any individual, group or corporate trying to purchase crops below MSP shall invite imprisonment for minimum three years apart from fine. He added that their bills have been drafted to ensure fair and transparent procurement of crops.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that their government has also passed bills against hoarding and black marketing of essential foodgrains which will protect the interests of the consumers. He added that The Code of Civil Procedures (Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020 passed by their government provides relief to farmers against attachment of land up to 2.5 acres, in line with the Congress government’s election promise.
Mr. Singla said that the Congress party led state government has ensured all arrangements in grain markets for hassle free procurement and timely payment of paddy. The cabinet minister reviewed the procurement process in the grain markets of Bhawanigarh city and Kalajharh and Nadampur villages. He said that in Sangrur district, 3,29,740 tonnes of paddy have been arrived, out of which around 97 percent ,3,18,358 tonnes, have already been procured till October 21.
