SAYS THREE PATIENTS GOT CURED TODAY ITSELF & HEALTH OF REMAINING ACTIVE PATIENTS IS IMPROVING

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that in a good news, four patients of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) have got cured in the district till date and three out of them have got cured today itself. He informed that the health of other 10 active patients is also improving. Mr Agrawal informed that no new positive case have been reported in the district today.
In a press statement issued here today, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration has provided permission for the start of government development works that are being executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). These projects include the Jalandhar Byepass, Ladhowal Byepass, Chandigarh-Kharar-Ludhiana Highway, Ludhiana-Jagraon-Feroepur Highway and the Ferozepur Road elevated road project. He informed that two officials have been deputed to ensure that they can check on site whether all the SOPs (standard operating protocols) are complied with by the contractor.
He informed that the District Administration has also started the process of providing relaxation to the industry, that wants to start their operations by following the government directions. He informed that the industrialists have started applying on the Invest Punjab portal and those industries that fulfil the requirements would be granted permissions.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that for all these works, the labour would not be allowed to commute on their own, besides the record of the health checkup of labour has to be maintained, and masks, sanitisers and soaps need to be provided to the labour. The persons seeking permissions would also have to ensure social distancing strictly. He informed that the district administration would hold checking of all industries/businesses to ensure whether all the directions are strictly complied with or not and if any industry/business is found violating these directions, strict action would be taken against them.
He also urged the residents to not fall prey to any rumours on social media. He said that a rumour about a positive case in a company manufacturing bread was spread today, which is wrong. He said that the police has already started investigation into the matter and action would be taken against the culprits. He also warned of strict action against people who spread rumours on social media.
Taking serious note of some news reports in a section of media regarding Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, the Deputy Commissioner clarified that media is the fourth pillar of society and the journalists should verify the news before publishing it as it causes confusion and fear in the minds of residents. He informed that he personally visited the Civil Hospital today and found that all things were in order there. He said that the patients as well as their attendants are being provided food on time, cleanliness is maintained and the linen is washed daily, besides other such facilities.
He informed that 1161 samples have been taken in the district till date, out of which reports of 1117 have been received and 1098 samples were negative. He informed that four patients, including three from Ludhiana and one from Jalandhar have been cured and now, only 10 active patients are left in the district.
