Pace of development of Malerkotla would be accelerated after becoming district-cabinet minister

Monday marked a historic day for the people of the area when the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh turned the dream of making Malerkotla a district into a reality. The CM also virtually laid foundation stone of other projects including Medical College and Girls College.
Thanking the Chief Minister on behalf of all the residents of Malerkotla during the virtual program, the Cabinet Minister Madam Razia Sultana said that Capt. Amarinder Singh had fulfilled every promise made to the people of which Malerkotla district was a clear proof. She said that with the formation of Malerkotla district, the pace of development in the area would now be accelerated which started today with the ground breaking of several projects and inauguration of a women’s police station. After the virtual program, Cabinet minister Razia Sultana along with deputy commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill and SSP Kanwardeep Kaur physically laid foundation and inaugurated these projects.
Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana said that Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan Government Medical College to be set up at a cost of Rs. 500 crore, a government women college at a cost of Rs. 12 crore and new bus stand to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 crore will be set up in Malerkotla and a women police station run exclusively by women police officers and staff has also been made operational. She said that apart from these projects, Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh also started the development work of Rs. 6 crore under the Urban Environment Improvement Program and Rs. 20 crore has been kept reserved for the construction of new District Administrative Complex and Sub-Divisional Complex. She said that at the same time, the CM was also in constant touch with the Agha Khan Foundation (UK) for the maintenance and renovation of the historic Mubarak Manzil Palace in the city. She said that this would go a long way in preserving the old culture and history of Malerkotla which would be a perfect example for future generations.
