Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that after setting up the State’s first Plasma Bank at Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, Two Plasma Banks would also be made functional at Government Medical Colleges at Amritsar and Faridkot.
The Chief Minister was responding to questions posed by the people during the 12th edition of his special Facebook live program #AskCaptain, during his fight aimed against corona virus under ‘Mission Fateh’, this evening. Meanwhile, two residents of Patiala district also took part in the #AskCaptain program by posing their questions to Capt. Amarinder Singh.
Accepting gratitude from Rajat Sahni of Patiala for setting up the first Plasma Bank of the state at Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, the Chief Minister appealed to the people who had won the Covid-19 war to donate their plasma as well. He calls upon the Patients to come forward to donate their plasma to make the other patients winners.
The Chief Minister said that out of cured 9000 patients of state, Plasma can be donated only by those persons who have antibodies in their body. He said as per the average of developing of antibodies, only 3600 persons Would be eligible for this.
Meanwhile, answering the query of Shankar Jindal of Samana why the doctors in Punjab to test COVID-19 before every surgery and instead these tests should be implemented on those who coming from outside Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh justified the test in the interest of medical fraternity and general public to protect them from pandemic. The Chief Minister said that this test was made mandatory by the health department but at the same time the government was also conducting tests for the outsiders.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh during his Facebook Live program asked the residents to prevent the spread of COVID-19 epidemic by not spitting people in public places, wearing masks, keeping distance from each other. He also appealed for strict adherence to safety rules for frequent hand washing, including provision of clean air in the rooms.
