A soldier of Fatehgarh Channa village of Mansa district himself got trapped in the honeytrap. Harpreet Kaur, who became Fauji’s friend at an aunt’s house in Barnala, made a video of Fauji in a semi-naked state in connivance with his associates and started blackmailing him with the intention of making the video viral. The nominated accused, 2 women and 3 men, started demanding Rs 5 lakh from the army in the name of deleting the video. The army jawan informed the entire incident to the police, who registered a case against all the named accused and arrested them.
In a statement to the police, Dilbag Singh, son of Jaggar Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Channa bus stand near Mansa district, said that he is serving in the army. He befriends Jagtar Singh’s wife Harjeet Kaur alias Preeti. Preeti called him to Aunty’s house in Gursewak Nagar, Barnala on 21st September, 2021. When they contacted Harjeet Kaur Preeti in the said house at Gursewak Nagar, her husband Jagtar Singh alias Kala, Gurdeep Singh, Harjit Kaur alias Murthy, Sant City Colony Sherpur, District Sangrur and Narinder Kumar alias Aman, Krishna Basti Patran resident of district Patiala made a video of him in a semi-naked state under the conspiracy.
All the above people threatened him, snatched Rs 10,000 from him and started blackmailing him. The named accused took out the ATM from the pocket of the soldier. 10 thousand rupees were withdrawn from his account. Fauji Dilbag Singh said that all the named accused started showing fear of making his half-naked video viral and demanded five lakh rupees for deleting the video. Angered by the blackmailing of all of them, he informed the police about the incident.
Police Station 1 Barnala SHO Lakhwinder Singh said that based on the statement of Fauji Dilbag Singh, a case has been registered against Harjit Kaur Preeti, Harjit Kaur Moorti, Jagtar Singh Kala, Gurdeep Singh and Narinder Kumar Aman. Crime 379 B/384/120B City Barnala police station registered a case under IPC, all the named accused have been arrested. He said that further legal action has been initiated by handing over the investigation of the case to ASI Jagseer Singh.
