Central University of Punjab successfully organised six-day Online Workshop on “Website Development”.

             The Central University of Punjab’s Dept. of Punjabi successfully organised an Online Workshop on the topic of ‘Learning How to Create a Website’ from 25th to 30th May 2020 under the guidance of honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof R K Kohli. The objective of this workshop was to provide technical knowledge on Creating New Website in the Punjabi Language to everyone. Faculty members, research scholars, students and corporate representatives from different cities across Punjab participated in this programme. Registrar of the university, Mr Kanwal Pal Singh Mundra congratulated the Punjabi Department for successfully conducting this workshop

Giving information about the workshop, Prof. Zameerpal Kaur, Head of the Department told that under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr R. K. Kohli, Central University of Punjab is continuously working towards its the mission of imparting quality education even during Corona pandemic. This workshop was an attempt to disseminate information through online mode so that teachers, students, writers who want to have their presence on the internet can learn about website development while following lockdown norms and social distancing. She said that in the age of information technology, it is very important that teachers and students are able to skillfully handle various services available on the internet so that they can share their knowledge with the masses.

Giving details about the workshop, Workshop Coordinator Dr Amandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi told that 60 applications were received for the workshop and first 30 participants were sent the invitation letter for participation. During this six-day workshop, daily two-hour session comprising of online-lecture, discussion and hands-on practices were conducted. Medium of the lecture and discussion was Punjabi and all the participants enthusiastically learned about creating websites using “Google Sites” and prepared practice sites related to topics of their interest. The participants also wished for more such workshops so that they can enhance their skills while staying at their home.
