RS.51000 IS GIVEN FOR DAUGHTER’S MARRIAGE
FUND IS GIVEN TO TWO DAUGHTERS OF A FAMILY

Under the Ashirwad scheme of the Punjab government, Rs 2 crore have been distributed to 398 beneficiaries in Barnala district from May 2022 to November 2022.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur said that under the Ashirwad scheme, the Punjab government gives financial assistance of Rs 51000 for marriage of daughter. The funds are transferred into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts online by the Director, Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Head Office, Mohali, in their bank accounts.
She said that an amount of Rs 2,02,98000 was received under this scheme in Barnala district. The amount received has been paid online into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Mr. Gurinderjit Singh Dhaliwal, District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer, Barnala said that an amount of Rs. 51,000 is given under this scheme. This scheme is limited to two girls per family. From April 1, 2023 onwards one can apply for the scheme online on portal http://ashirwad.punjab.gov.in to seek benefit.
If there is any problem while submitting the online application, coordination can be done at the office of Tehsil Social Justice and Empowerment Officer, Barnala and Tapa. The benefit of this scheme is given to the beneficiaries whose families have an annual income of less than Rs 32790 and the age of the girl child should not be less than 18 years at the time of marriage.
