Those Involved in illicit Liquor Trade Must be Informed to the Police in Public Interest

Continuing its crusade against Illicit Liquor Smugglers on day two, Patiala police today conducted raids on large scale in the district to expose and nab the culprits indulged in the illegal trade. Supervising the raid operation himself, SSP Mr. Vikram Jeet Duggal said that those who were puting the lives of the people at risk by supplying and manufacturing spurious liqour would not be spared at any cost.
Patiala police has arrested 13 persons in two days and registered 31 cases and seized 4 operating kilns besides recovering more than 7420 liters of Lahan and 1212 bottles of illicit liquor, he further added. He appealed to the people not to buy spurious liquor and report the culprits to the police so that those who try to endanger the lives of the people at risk, could be thrown behind bars.
Mr. Duggal said that the operation of raids carried out by the police teams at various places, today, was led by SP (Investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal. Meanwhile, Shisha Masih, Ranga Masih and Bhinder were arrested from Hajipur village of Julka Police Station with seizures of 2600 liters of Lahan and 25 bottles of illicit liquor. More than 3000 liters of Lahan has been recovered from Marauri. Around 6000 liters of caustic soda was also recovered backside of Manjit Dhaba near Rajpura.
SSP Mr. Duggal added that previous day, Ghagga police recovered 120 liters of Lahan from Parkash Ram of village Drauli, 65 liters from Kavita Devi wife of Surjan Ram and Samana police recovered 70 liters from Jaswinder Kaur wife of Charna Singh, a resident of Achral Khurd. Apart from that around 150 liters of Lahan recovered from Sohan Singh and 70 liters from Bhola Singh, 120 liters from Makhan Singh, 100 liters from Melo wife of Sukha Singh with15 bottles of illicit liquor and 35 bottles of illicit liquor recovered from Channa Singh of village Marori. Besides, illicit liquor was also recovered from other places including Dhabas, hotels, marriage palaces, village Baghora etc.
Similarly, Samana police recovered
300 bottles of illicit liquor from a car bearing registration number PB 11 AD 4109 that was smuggled from Haryana, Police Station Kotwali Patiala apprehanded Manjinder Singh resident of Bhankhar and Mithu resident of Bhattal with 300 bottles of illicit liquor, Rajesh Kumar Sharma resident of Mahindra Colony Patiala with 9 bottles of liquor smuggled from Haryana and Police Station Urban Estate seized 80 bottles of liquor from Satnam Singh, a resident of Shanti Nagar.
Raid Teams were comprised of DSP Mr. K.K. Panthe, DSP Patran Bharpur Singh and DSP Samana Jaswant Singh besides police parties from concerned police stations and CIA.
