ADDITIONAL DEPUTY COMMISSIONER (GENERAL) & SDM (KHANNA) TEST POSITIVE

Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID 19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 522 active patients in the district at present.
During the tests conducted recently, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr Amarjit Singh Bains and SDM (Khanna) Mr Sandeep Singh Garha have been tested positive for Covid 19.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid 19. He said that after the senior District Administration officials tested positive, all other officials who have come in direct contact with both these officers lately, have been advised home quarantine as a preventive measure. He informed that he himself came in contact with both these officers and his report has come out negative.
The officers who have been put under home quarantine include MC Additional Commissioner Mr Sanyam Aggarwal, ACA GLADA Mr Bhupinder Singh, ADC (Jagraon) Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDMs Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi and Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Secretary, RTA Mr Damanjit Singh Mann, MC Joint Commissioner Mr Kulpreet Singh, Estate Officer GLADA Mrs Sonam Chaudhary, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, DRO Mr Joginder Singh, DPRO Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, IPRO Mr Puneet Pal Singh Gill, SDO GLADA Mr Harpreet Singh Sekhon, besides some others.
He further said that till date, a total of 38844 samples have been taken, out of which report of 37716 samples has been received, of 36354 samples is negative and report of 1128 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 1133, while 229 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately 27 people from Ludhiana and 27 from other districts have lost their lives.
He informed that till date, 15121 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2100. Today, 167 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 719 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
Mr Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
