Barnala get a historic gift in terms of health facility

    The foundation stone of 300 bedded super speciality hospital was laid by Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr OP Soni along with Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon.

Rich tributes were also paid to the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji.
Speaking at the event Mr OP Soni said that the hospital will benefit over 1.5 Lakh people and people of the nearby area need not go to other places in search of the best of Medical health facilities. The hospital will have around 300 beds and will cure more than 18 serious illnesses. He announced Rs 2 cr for strengthening existing health facility at Civil Hospital Barnala.

Appreciating the efforts of senior Congress President Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon he said that Mr Dhillon’s name has become synonymous to development. He added that Mr Dhillon has not left any stone unturned in ushering in the best of development project for Barnala. From getting the district status for Barnala to bringing in the best of sewerage project Mr Dhillon is credited with being the Vikas Purush of this area. He added that under the Chief Minister Punjab Mr Charanjit Singh Channi the state is progressing by leaps and bounds.

Speaking at the event Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon said that with the setting up of multi Super Speciality Hospital he has fulfilled his promises made to Barnala. First the multi-crore sewage treatment plant for Barnala and now super Multi Speciality Hospital for the area has brought cheers on faces of people.

The hospital is coming up in six acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crores. Already rupees 40 crore has been sanctioned for this project and there is no dearth of funds for it.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony flanked by Senior Congress leader Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon, the Deputy CM Mr Soni said that this Super Speciality Hospital will prove to be a boon for the people of this area who would get best of the health facilities near their homes.

Mr Soni said that Punjab government was currently providing 235 kind of medicines free of cost at all the government hospitals. He added that the Punjab government was committed towards providing best of the infrastructure and manpower to health sector.

Also instruction have been passed to purchase the medicine that have not been available in government hospitals but are required by the patients. Mr Soni added that in order to streamline availability of medicines at different government hospitals in the state a mobile application is being developed on which availability of medicines will be easily accessible in public domain.

Responding to a media query he added that the pay scale of super specialist doctors is soon being revised by the Punjab government to ensure that number of super specialist join government service and people get a respite.

Congratulating the residents of Barnala for soon having access to super specialist medical services Mr Soni said that the hospital has been possible due to earnest efforts of Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon. He added that Mr Dhillon has heralded in unmatched development in Barnala.

Prominent among others present included Mr Pawan Goyal senior Congress leader, Director of Health Services Dr Andesh Kang and Dr GB Singh, DC Mr Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka, DIG Mr Gurpeet Singh Toor, SSP Mr BS Meena, ADC Mr Amit Bambi, SDM Mr varjeet Walia, Assistant Commissioner General Mr Devdarsb, civil surgeon Barnala Dr Jasvir Singh Aulakh, chairman improvement trust Mr Makhan Sharma, former MLA Bibi harchand Ghanauri, Bibi Surinder Kaur Walia , president Nagar Council Mr Gurjeet Singh Ramanvasiya, vice president Nagar Council Mr Narinder, president Nagar Panchayat Mr Ashwani Kumar Ashu and others were also present.
