DIRECTS OFFICIALS TO ENSURE PARKING SPACE IS INCREASED FROM ITS EXISTING CAPACITY

Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today reviewed the progress of the ongoing work related to retrofitting and upgradation of Sarabha Nagar market. He was also accompanied by MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu, besides senior officials of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd and Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.
Mr Ashu informed that the total estimated cost of this combined project is around Rs 38.62 crore.
While providing information, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu stated that the proposed project aligns with the overall goal for Smart City Ludhiana including the creation of better places for people in the city achieved by working on the objectives of landscaping of public open space to revitalise them as Urban public interactive & gathering place, improve quality of life by infrastructure upgradation, clean & safe environment and a provision of smart features and amenities/facilities for public.
He said that for Sarabha Nagar market project includes upgradation of design, supply and installation of all landscape works, including undergrounding of electrical services. He said that all the electricity cables in this market would be underground and it would present a modern look.
He said that there will be increment and improvement in the infrastructure of this market, addition of landscape elements, improvement of user comfort, upgradation of services and utilities, additional services such as fire service, ground water recharge for future utilities and regularisation of parking. He told the officials working on the project to ensure that the existing parking space is increased from its existing capacity as a large number of residents visit this market on daily basis.
Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu also assured that upon completion, this market would be one of the best markets in the state. He also urged the residents that in view of ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, they should support the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government as it has been started for their benefit.
