     The Ram Saroop Ankhi Municipal Library, located at the office of municipal council Barnala, shall now be a hotspot for bibliophiles as well as youngsters seeking knowledge through digital mode. The municipal council Barnala has modernized its library into Municipal Resource Learning Center at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.

“The library will prove to be boon for the youngsters who will have easy access to internet facility through the four computers being installed here. Besides this, the library will be house to 10000 book,” said senior Congress leader Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon while inaugurating the revamped project today. Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka was also present.

Mr Dhillon said that Malwa, especially Barnala, is the land of best of Punjabi authors. The library at municipal council is named after one of the best writers Mr Ram Saroop Ankhi, which has now been revamped and modernized.

He honored the noted author Mr Om Prakash Gaso and announced that a similar library will come up at the office of Improvement Trust Barnala in the name of author Mr Gaso.

He said that to associate youngsters with the book culture and literature, the Municipal Resource Learning Center has technology enabled gadgets including computers, LED, projector, sound system, internet and other digital equipments. This would enable youngsters to prepare for competition exams.

Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka added that the Municipal Learning Resource Center will prove to be perfect platform for the young generation to interact and learn. He especially appreciated efforts of ADC (G) Mr Aaditya Dachalwal for conceiving the idea and modernizing library.

SDM Barnala Mr Varjeet Walia, chairman Improvement Trust Mr Makhan Sharma, EO Mr Manpreet Singh Sidhu, president nagar council Mr Gurjit Ramanvasia, assistant director youth services Mr Vijay Bhaskar, JE Mr Salim and others were also present.
